About Jerry

Dr. Jerry Bangert is a graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and his Doctor of Medicine. He served as Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Dallas for several years, and in 1983 joined the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson as Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology and Dermatology.

For over 35 years, he has led men’s Bible studies, discipled men, and spoken at men’s conferences. His ministry has focused on helping men to become disciples of Jesus Christ at home and work and to learn to think biblically in an increasingly secular age. Recently retired from medicine, he works full-time in Christian ministry. He lives in Tucson with his wife of 45 years, Gail, with whom he has two children and two grandchildren.

Jerry published The Discipline of Delusion: How Secular Ideas Became the New Idolatry, which describes the dangers of idolatry and how modern secular ideologies have seduced the church into listening to our culture rather than the Bible.
